Trump’s ‘concept of a deal’ with Canada just political posturing: analyst

U.S. President Donald Trump says our two nations are close to a trade deal.

Trump making the comments on the campaign trail ahead of Tuesday’s U.S. midterm elections.

Many Americans are upset with the trade war he began with Canada – and his trade policy has become a key issue for some candidates.

The Prime Minister’s office says the conversation with Trump happened Saturday and it built on previous exchanges.

Trump claimed the Keystone XL pipeline project was part of the negotiations, adding that Canada would pay for “all of it.”
