OPP charge Burlington resident with 65 offences in hospital fraud probe

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a Burlington resident is now facing a total of 65 charges in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation.

OPP says the probe was initiated after multiple reports of theft and fraud involving patients and staff members within health-care facilities. 

Officers executed several search warrants and seized a significant quantity of property.

Investigators say Nassim Eronn, 34, has been charged with several fraud and theft-related offences including 34 counts of fraud under $5,000 and 13 counts of theft under $5,000.

The investigation remains ongoing. The incidents that are alleged to have taken place at the following health-care facilities are indicated along with the dates:

• Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (Orillia) – between April 2025 and March 2026
• Headwaters Health Care Centre (Orangeville) – between August and September 2026
• Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital (Mississauga) – between August 2025 and July 2026
• St. Joseph’s Health Centre (Toronto) – between July 2024 and January 2025
• West Park Health Care Centre (Toronto) – between February and April 2024.

Detectives believe there may be additional victims including patients, visitors and staff members who attended these facilities during the timeframes listed above. 

Anyone who attended one of the identified hospitals during the relevant period is encouraged to review their financial records for unauthorized transactions.
