Oakville’s mayoral race
Arvind Choudhary comes to the race with more than 30 years working in finance, public policy and tech. He has also served as a member of the Ontario Real Estate Association for 2025. Choudhary’s platform focuses on keeping Oakville’s “small-town feel,” public safety, traffic infrastructure and purposeful spending of taxpayer dollars.
Julia Hanna has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, owning and operating a variety of restaurants in Oakville. Hanna ran for mayor in 2022. Her platform this time around focuses on infrastructure, addressing traffic issues, public safety, housing and more.
Jeff Knoll has been the Ward 5 councillor since first being elected in 2000. He is currently the Chair of the Halton Police Services Board and Chair of the Oakville Public Library Board. Knoll hopes his experience dealing with issues in Oakville such as growth, taxes, roads, policing and more will help him become the next town mayor.
Sean O’Meara has served as the Ward 1 councillor since 2014. O’Meara’s campaign centres around getting Oakville “out of the middle lane” and up to speed with neighbouring municipalities. His platform focuses on economic growth, community preservation, transportation infrastructure and more.
