Police ask public to avoid St. Catharines intersection due to wanted barricaded person

Officers are asking the public to avoid the area of Eastchester and Oakdale avenues in St. Catharines due to an ongoing police investigation involving a wanted barricaded person.

Niagara police tell CHCH News that the suspect is contained and officers are awaiting approval of a warrant to enter the home.

There is no risk to public safety at this time.
