The peak of the Perseid meteor shower is predicted to happen in the middle of next week.

So what makes this one so special from others that happen throughout the year?

Well, it’s actually the lunar phase and the amount of meteors you may see.

Those lucky enough to get out to dark viewing areas will be able to catch some of the show with the naked eye – no telescopes needed.

An added tip, give yourself 20 to 30 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the darkness.
