WestJet flight attendants secure 18% wage hike in tentative deal

The union representing WestJet flight attendants says the tentative deal they reached after their one-day strike includes a more than 18 per cent wage hike over three years.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) says the deal also includes a new duty period premium that adds compensation for work done on the ground, one of the negotiations top points.

The tentative deal is providing workers with increased time off as well as higher food and uniform allowances.

Following a one-day cabin crew strike on Sunday, WestJet is still dealing with lingering flight delays as operations ramp back up.
