President Trump orders 50% tariffs on select Canadian goods

The White House says it will impose a 50 per cent tariff on certain Canadian goods next month in response to Canada’s retaliatory trade measures, including restrictions on American alcohol. Orders signed by Trump also target Canada’s dairy import system and vehicle export limits.

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Ottawa is now “looking at all options” to respond.
