Brantford police charged a 16-year-old boy after reports of what looked like a handgun was being waved at another vehicle in Brantford Saturday night.
Officers say they went to a housing complex on Tollgate Road at around 9:05 p.m. after receiving a report.
The victim told police that while they were on the road, an occupant in another moving vehicle held what appeared to be a handgun and allegedly pointed it directly at them.
Investigators say during the incident the accused had concealed their face by using a shirt as a makeshift balaclava-style mask, before the suspect fled in the vehicle.
Detectives say they found the suspect’s vehicle in the area of Elgin Street and Wayne Gretzky Parkway, and were able to arrest and take the suspect into custody.

Police say they identified the firearm to be a replica, and that the victim and the accused were known to one another.
Officers charged the teen boy with offences including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguising with intent, and for pointing a firearm.
The boy was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators say an 18-year-old woman was also an occupant in the vehicle and was found to be in breach of a court-ordered condition, which prohibited them from being in the area where the offence allegedly occurred.
That woman was charged with disobeying a court order, and was subsequently released on an undertaking with conditions.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
