Worker dead after falling into Hamilton Harbour, police say

The Ontario Ministry of Labour is investigating the death of a person who fell into Hamilton Harbour while working at Ontario Shipyards near Pier 14 on Monday.

Hamilton police say they received a report around 9:30 a.m. of a person in the water at the business located at 208 Hillyard St.

Officers say the worker fell into the water while performing their duties and has died of their injuries.

There is no word yet on how the worker fell into the water.

Police are holding the scene while the labour ministry investigates.
