This is what’s closed for Thanksgiving Monday in our region

For many Thanksgiving Monday means stretchy pants, family gatherings or an extra day off to spend at home.

For those looking for something to do this holiday Monday, we’ve gathered what’s open and closed around our region.

All banks, government offices, libraries, Canada Post delivery and postal outlets are closed.

Most malls are closed. However it varies by location. The Outlet Collection of Niagara in Niagara-On-The-Lake, the Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills and the Tanger Outlets Cookstown in Innisfil will all be open Monday.

It’s the last chance to visit the Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show in Simcoe, the Balls Falls Thanksgiving Festival in Lincoln and the Rockton World’s Fair.

It’s a good opportunity to take in the fall colours at Spencer Gorge Conservation Area in Hamilton which includes Dundas Peak, Tew’s Falls and Webster’s Falls. Book your time online. Admission fees are $11 per car and $5.50 per passenger, plus a $10 reservation fee.

All tourist attractions on Clifton Hill and in Niagara Falls will be open today, as will most tourist attractions in our region.

Many grocery stores are closed today but it varies by location. Either call your store or look online before heading to the store to avoid an extra trip.

Most Shoppers Drug Mart stores are open. You can search for your store in their directory to see if it is open.

Garbage collection will be pushed by one day in Hamilton and Halton but Niagara’s garbage and recycling schedule will not be impacted.

Most restaurants are open today but can vary place-to-place.

Major movie theatres will be open today.

Public transit will run on a Sunday/Holiday schedule in most regions. Milton transit will not be running.
