Police investigate smash-and-grab at Michael Hill in Burlington mall

Halton police are investigating a jewelry store robbery that happened at the Burlington mall on Sunday.

Officers say that on Sunday at around 5:30 p.m., a group of male suspects entered the Michael Hill store at the Burlington Centre wearing masks and dark clothing.

Police say when the group entered the mall, they walked directly towards the Michael Hill store and began smashing the glass display cases with hammers and stealing various items before they ran away.

Investigators have determined there were no customers in the store at the time and no injuries have been reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
