Halton police have arrested two men and a woman as part of an investigation into the human trafficking of a woman in southern Ontario for months last year.
Investigators began an investigation in April following allegations that a woman had been trafficked and exploited in the sex trade between January and April 2024.
Detectives say the accused had used coercion, manipulation, physical violence and psychological harm to maintain control over the woman, while benefitting financially from her exploitation.
Officers arrested 32-year-old Robert Collingwood of Hamilton, who uses the name “Flip” as an alias, on Aug. 7, 2025.
He has been charged with several offences, including those related to trafficking people, assault and forcible confinement.
Police arrested 28-year-old Taylor Bousfield of Hamilton on Aug. 12, 2025, and charged her with similar offences that Collingwood is facing, as well as one charge of knowingly advertising sexual services.
Investigators arrested 37-year-old Patrick Benson of no fixed address Thursday, who uses the name “LP” or “El Problemo” as an alias.
He was charged with trafficking in people, assault, and for procuring to exercise control, direction or influence.
All three accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Halton police believe there may be more victims.
