Due to physician staffing shortages, the Port Colborne Urgent Care Centre has adjusted its operating hours this week.

The urgent care centre is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

The centre will resume its regular hours of operation (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) on Aug. 19.

It will operate from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 20 and open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 21.

The Urgent Care Centre will resume its regular hours of operation on Aug. 22.

“Like hospitals across Ontario, Niagara Health continues to face a shortage of emergency-trained physicians. While we work hard to ensure coverage across all sites — including increasing incentives — physician availability can vary from shift to shift and site to site, which can sometimes result in temporary service disruptions,” read a statement from Niagara Health.

The public is advised to check the Port Colborne Urgent Care Centre website before visiting to confirm hours.

The Fort Erie Complex and Urgent Care Centre is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Emergency departments in Niagara Falls, St. Catharines and Welland remain open at all hours.
