Millions of vehicles are being driven on the roads with airbags that could potentially explode. Recalls have been issued in dozens of countries around the world.

Brittany Gogo spoke to a man today who received a letter back in July telling him about the recall for his Ford Ranger and that he would be notified by Ford when the parts where in to repair it, but he still hasn’t heard anything.

Ford has recalled nearly 391 000 Ranger pick-ups in Canada and the U.S. made from 2004-2006 because airbag inflators made by Takata can explode with too much force, blowing apart a metal canister.

And it’s not just Ford. There are millions of vehicles with the potentially defective airbags. Takata has been supplying car makers for more than a decade.

In December a South Carolina father was killed when his airbag exploded in his 2006 Ford Ranger. He was hit in the neck by metal shrapnel.
