Dallas nurse may have flown with Ebola symptoms

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control is now asking passengers who flew from Dallas to Cleveland last Friday to contact them.

The CDC now believes a Dallas Nurse started feeling sick on Friday, the day she flew to Cleveland. Originally, it was believed Amber Vinson, the second nurse diagnosed with Ebola, began developing a fever on Monday, but health officials have now learned she was showing symptoms of Ebola well before that. The head of the CDC says Vinson is ill but stable.

The first person to be infected with Ebola in the U.S. Is said to be in good spirits. In a video, 26-year-old nurse, Nina Pham is seen smiling and joking with her colleagues. Pham was recorded by her physician at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. In the video, her doctor thanks Pham for taking care of the first U.S. Ebola patient, Thomas Eric Duncan. He died of Ebola last week. After the video, Pham was transferred to a hospital in Maryland. Her doctors are optimistic about her recovery, but say it will take time before she’s cured of the virus.

Prime Minister Harper is going to announce additional support to the international effort to fight Ebola. The new measures will add to Canada’s current commitment of $35 million to the World Health Organization and humanitarian aid groups working in West Africa.
