Search for missing Hamilton man in Australia put on hold

The family of a Hamilton man missing in Australia has returned to Canada.

Prabhdeep Srawn’s relatives were forced to leave their search effort because of restrictions on their visas.

Srawn has been missing since May when he left for a hike in the Australian mountains. His family says they will return once their visa issues are resolved.

Many volunteers have participated in the search, and they plan to resume looking when the weather improves.

Srawn’s family says there is also renewed hope that Australian police will rejoin them when spring arrives. They have offered a $100,000 reward to anyone who finds their son, or his body.
