Port Dover students end protest

High school students in Port Dover have been forced to end their protest.

The students had been camping out at Port Dover Composite School since October 30th to protest the schools closure at the end of January because of low enrollment.

They were asked Monday night to leave the property by the superintendent of the Grand Erie District School Board and two OPP officers.

The students have returned to classes, but say they plan to continue efforts to reverse the school board’s decision to close the school and bus students to Simcoe.

Two students are already planning to make delegations at a board meeting next week.
