Police investigate shooting at home of Hamilton mobster

First Published:

Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left the home of notorious mobster Pat Musitano riddled with bullets.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on St. Claire Boulevard in central Hamilton.

One neighbour, who did not want to appear on camera, told CHCH News he called police after hearing multiple gun shots. Officers found multiple spent bullet casings on the roadway.

A man resembling Pat Mustiano was seen briefly in and around the house today. But police say he is not telling them much.

Investigators say the suspect or suspects likely used a vehicle to flee the area.

Officers were called to the same house in September 2015 after Musitano’s SUV was set on fire in the driveway.

Detectives believe the home was “specifically targeted” in Tuesday’s shooting and may be linked to the murder of Pat’s brother, Angelo Musitano.

Last month, Angelo was shot multiple times while sitting inside his pickup truck in the driveway of his family home on Chesapeake Dr. in Waterdown.

In 2006, the Musitano brothers were released from prison following convictions for conspiracy to commit murder in the 1997 shooting death of Niagara crime boss Carm Barillaro.
