Ontario reported 3,682 cases of COVID-19 and 40 deaths on Thursday.
The daily case count comes as the province completed 54,246 tests. The reported positivity rate, which takes into account the date tests were done, is 7.8 per cent.
Ontario is reporting 3,682 cases of #COVID19 and over 54,200 tests completed. Locally, there are 1,131 new cases in Toronto, 507 in Peel, 436 in York Region, 279 in Ottawa and 200 in Durham.

Hamilton
- 15,986 total cases — up 128 from Wednesday
- 13,603 resolved cases
- 1,783 active cases
- 151 in hospital
- 350 deaths — up one from Wednesday
Seven new outbreaks have been declared in the city, at three businesses, two schools and childcare centres, one play of worship and one long-term care home.
The outbreak at National Steel Car has five cases and has screened positive for a variant of concern. There are three cases at ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s tube slitter line with a variant of concern detected there as well.
There is one staff and one student case at St. Vincent de Paul Children’s Centre and Dundas Central Elementary School has two staff cases.
Blessings Christian Church has six patron cases.
Niagara

- 41 deaths — up one from Wednesday
The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is 2,350. There are now 806 people in intensive care, with 588 of them on ventilators.
The province says it administered 134,920 vaccine doses on Wednesday.
There are 351,354 people in the province who have received both doses and are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Another 4,597 cases have been marked as resolved.
