Ontario reports 3,270 COVID-19 cases, 29 deaths

Ontario reported 3,270 cases of COVID-19 and 29 deaths on Monday.

The numbers come as the province completed 39,121 tests.

Here are the COVID-19 numbers for our region

Hamilton

  • 6,579 total cases — up 94 from Sunday
  • 4,378 resolved cases
  • 1,603 active cases
  • 179 deaths — two new
  • 75 in hospital

Halton
  • 6,363 total cases — up 134 from Sunday
  • 5,557 resolved cases
  • 687 active cases
  • 119 deaths — two new
  • 51 in hospital

Niagara

  • 4,398 total cases — up 99 from Sunday
  • 3,255 resolved cases
  • 142 active cases
  • 142 deaths
  • 92 in hospital

Brant

  • 983 total cases — up 27 from Sunday
  • 731 resolved cases
  • 246 active cases
  • 6 deaths
  • 4 in hospital

Haldimand-Norfolk

  • 987 total cases
  • 812 resolved cases
  • 135 active cases
  • 35 deaths

Six Nations

  • 115 total cases — up two
  • 103 resolved cases
  • 9 active cases
  • 1 death

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at Cedarwood Village apartments in Simcoe after one resident and one staff member tested positive for the virus

A total of 4,679 people have died of the virus in the province. More than 60 per cent of those deaths were in residents of long-term care.

There are 1,190 COVID-19 patients in Ontario hospitals. There are 333 in intensive care and 194 of those are on ventilators.

Another 2,074 cases have been marked as resolved. Overall, 84.8 per cent of the province’s COVID-19 cases are resolved.

The province says 42,419 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered as of 8 p.m. Sunday night. Of those 4,806 were administered on Sunday.
