Teen hearing study
Loud concerts could be damaging a teen’s hearing.
A small new study reveals 72% of teens had reduced hearing after a three hour concert.
25% of those had tinnitus or a ringing of the ears.
While most of this hearing loss is temporary, regular exposure to noise over 85 decibels can cause permanent damage.
Researchers say more studies need to be done to determine if teenagers’ ears are more sensitive than adults’ ears.
