Dogs and healthy kids

Parents who are dog owners may have healthier kids!

A new study finds children exposed to dogs starting in infancy, had fewer respiratory infections and ear infections.

They also didn’t need to stay on antibiotics as long as children living in homes without pets.

Having a cat also had a protective effect, but it wasn’t as strong as dogs.

Experts say contact with animals may cause an infant’s immune system to mature more quickly.
