Driver identified in fatal Burlington hit-and-run involving cyclist

Halton police have identified a North York woman charged in connection with a hit-and-run that killed an 81-year-old cyclist in Burlington.

The collision happened around 2:30 p.m. May 18 on North Shore Blvd. near the QEW overpass.

Ji Feng, 41, has been charged with failure to stop after an accident resulting in death and careless driving causing death.

The cyclist, Doug Fritz, was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Local and out-of-town cyclists held a ghost ride in Burlington to honour the victim on Saturday.

Over 50 riders set out from the Burlington GO Station in remembrance of Fritz.
