Wynne outlines plan for Ontario’s economy

Kathleen Wynne has outlined her plan to make Ontario more attractive for business at the Bloomberg Economic Summit in Toronto.

The 2014 Ontario budget — on which the Liberals are running — promises to bring 100,000 jobs every year in a “jobs and prosperity fund” over the next ten years. But Wynne says PC leader Tim Hudak’s “million jobs plan” will put Ontario in a recession.

“Our corporate taxes are among the lowest in North America and he wants to reduce them by 30 per cent,” said Wynne. “And he wants to cut 100,000 jobs. That’s firing 100,000 people. He’s willing to do all of that so that he can tell you that he’ll balance the budget 365 days earlier than we will.”

The premier says the NDP put the province’s economic recovery at risk by not supporting her budget.
