(Updated) Niagara Regional Police have arrested a Brampton man in connection with a hit-and-run that happened on Ontario Street in St. Catharines in February.

Police say the suspect intentionally struck a man with his car and fled the scene before police arrived. The victim sustained significant injuries.

Noor Yalda, 23, is facing a series of charges, including aggravated assault.

Editor’s note: The charges against Mr Yalda have subsequently been dropped. Niagara Regional Police tell CHCH News the case is still open as of June 10, 2015.
