Wynne backs Alberta’s Redford

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is backing Alberta’s Premier on a national energy strategy saying what’s good for Alberta’s oil and gas industry is good for our province too.

On her first official visit to Alberta, Wynne met with Premier Alison Redford. Wynne backed the idea that Alberta must be able to move oil and gas through Ontario and said that there are many industries in Ontario that support and supply the oil and gas industry in Alberta, so there’s a lot of shared interest.

However, Wynne also says there’s a need for caution and environmental oversight when it comes to how the fuel is transported which speaks directly to the Enbridge and Trans Canada pipeline debate currently raging in her province.
