U of G getting $500K from Ticats

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will pay half a million dollars to the University of Guelph for staging as many as 10 CFL games at the school’s alumni stadium next season.

The Ticats are responsible for all the costs associated with playing games at the university.
They’ve agreed to play a minimum of one pre-season game and six regular season games at Guelph, with the option to play all nine regular season games there.

The Cats will provide a gift of $450,000 toward the new athletic and recreation centre, and $50,000 to help cover additional costs.

The team will get all the revenue from parking, concessions and sponsorship.

The Ticats looked to Guelph after McMaster said it couldn’t accommodate the team while a new stadium is built on the Ivor Wynne site. The final deal will be completed by January 31st.
