GO Transit riders on the Lakeshore West line should prepare for travel changes over the next two weekends as major track upgrades get underway.

Regular Lakeshore West train service will run between Niagara Falls and Aldershot GO stations on the weekends of May 23-24 and May 30-31.

However, GO replacement buses will be operating, making stops at West Harbour, Aldershot, Burlington, Oakville and Clarkson GO stations, then to Bramalea GO, where customers can connect to eastbound trains on the Kitchener line to Union Station.

On Friday, May 22, there will be some late-night service adjustments.

From May 23-24, there will be no GO Transit service at Appleby, Bronte, Port Credit, Long Branch, Mimico or Exhibition GO. There will also be no GO train service between Aldershot GO and Union Station.

From May 30-31, there will be no GO Transit service at Appleby, Bronte, Port Credit, or Long Branch GO. Special GO trains will run between Mimico GO and Union Station on a 15-minute schedule.

Metrolinx says these track closures are in place to make necessary improvements to support faster, more frequent GO service as part of GO Expansion.

Regular service is expected to resume on Monday, May 25 and Monday, June 1.

More information about Lakeshore West service adjustments and alternate route options can be found on the GO Transit website.
