Halton police have arrested and charged multiple people and recovered dozens of pieces of stolen property.
Officers say they received a report in March of a stolen wallet from a vehicle in Oakville, where the victim’s stolen credit cards were accessed and used.
They say as the investigation unfolded, 22-year-old Kathleen Rand of Oakville and 40-year-old Daniel Gignac of Burlington were identified as suspects.
On May 11, Rand was located and arrested. Following her arrest, several pieces of stolen identification were found in her possession.
Investigators executed a search warrant on May 13 at a home in Oakville where six people, including Gignac, were taken into custody.
Police say the search warrant led to them seizing illegal drugs and multiple items of stolen property, including six e-bicycles, gasoline-powered generators, power tools, gift cards and other items of evidentiary value.
