Scarborough teen charged in Burlington and Oakville home invasions

Halton police have charged a Scarborough teen in connection with home invasions in Burlington and Oakville in late April.

The fourteen-year-old was arrested and charged on June 9 with robbery, two counts of disguise with intent, break and enter with intent, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act the accused cannot be identified.

The incidents took place on April 22. The first break-in was in southeast Oakville around 3 a.m. and the second one occurred in the Burlington neighbourhood of Rosedale around 3:45 a.m.

Five suspects were involved. All were described as having slim builds and wearing dark clothing with either hoods or balaclavas. They were reported to be driving a dark-coloured sedan.

Police continue to investigate the home invasions and are working to identify and arrest additional suspects.

Investigators are appealing to the public for any video footage from June 9 from the area near Royal Windsor and Ford drives between 2:45 a.m. and 3:10 a.m., and in the area of New Street (between Walkers and Guelph lines) and Rossmore Boulevard between the hours of 3:30 and 4:10 a.m.
