Staff member at Oakville elementary school tests positive for COVID-19

A staff member at an Oakville elementary school tested positive for COVID-19 just days before students returned to class.

A notice has gone out to parents of the school saying Oodenawi Public School was informed of the positive test on Monday.

The person was at the school last week. Staff who had close contact with that person have been ordered to self-isolate.

The notice says no students were exposed to the virus.

According to the principal, the school has since undergone enhanced cleaning.

Under provincial guidelines, all schools are required to disclose COVID-19 cases to parents, while protecting personal privacy.
