Snow day for students in Brantford, Haldimand–Norfolk areas

Overnight snowfall and high winds have closed schools in the Brantford and Haldimand–Norfolk areas today.

The Grand Erie District School Board — covering Norfolk, Haldimand and Brant counties — and Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board are closed to students and staff.

“Today, services in all four zones are cancelled due to current secondary road conditions and forecasted whiteout conditions during morning run time. As a result, schools are also closed,” said Philip Kuckyt of Student Transportation Services Brant Haldimand Norfolk.

The Grand Erie District School Board posted on its website and sent out alerts that schools in all zones are closed due to snow and blowing snow.

The YMCA Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford has closed its childcare programs for full day, before- and after-care programs and its ‘Beyond the Bell’ in Brantford program due to the wintery weather.
