OPP arrest woman following attempted robbery at Simcoe business

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a woman from Norfolk County after a robbery in Simcoe Thursday morning at a business on Queensway West.

Norfolk County OPP say at around 6:10 a.m., officers received reports of a robbery at a business between Hunt and Norfolk streets.

Police said the woman armed with an edged weapon allegedly demanded money from an employee and attempted to steal merchandise.

The attempt failed, and the woman had left the area on foot, going southbound toward North Main Street.

Investigators later found the woman at a home on Queen St. North in Simcoe, and brought her into custody without incident.

Sasha Sullivan, 25, of Norfolk County has been charged with offences including robbery with violence, assault with a weapon and disguising with intent.

Sullivan remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at a Simcoe courthouse Friday.
