Recovery efforts following the crash of a plane in Laos are going slowly because of a lack of specialized equipment.

A Canadian was originally thought to have been on the plane that went down in the Mekong River in bad weather, but that has turned out not to be the case.

All 49 people on board died.

Divers are facing difficult conditions, including zero visibility and strong currents. Recovery teams are now pinning their hopes on specialists from France and Singapore who are due to arrive later today.
