Health Canada has issued a recall of roughly 64,100 baby sun hats due to a potential choking hazard.

The government agency says the loop fastener on Joe Fresh brand baby sun hats may detach and pose a choking risk to children.

The hats were sold in a variety of colours and patterns between January 2019 and June 2019.

They were manufactured in China and distributed by Loblaw Companies Ltd. at its stores including Fortinos, Independent, Joe Fresh, Loblaws, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, Wholesale Club, valu-mart, and Zehrs.

There have been no reports of injuries or incidents involving the hats in Canada.

Health Canada is advising consumers to stop using the product immediately and return the item to any Loblaw banner store for a full refund.
