Poll ties Grits & Tories

Three weeks from tomorrow Ontario residents vote for a new provincial government and the latest public opinion poll shows two of the main parties tied in a dead heat.
The Abacus Data poll shows Kathleen Wynne’s Liberals and the Tim Hudak progressive conservatives tied, with 33 per cent support among committed voters.
The New Democrats, led by Andrea Horwath, are trailing with 26 per cent support. The Green Party has six per cent.
Abacus Data CEO David Coletto says the Liberals are at the front of the pack in Toronto and Eastern Ontario, and with female voters. In Toronto the Grits scored 40 per cent, followed by the NDP at 27 per cent and the Tories at 26 per cent.
He says the PCs have the advantage in Southwestern Ontario and are slightly ahead in the 905 belt right around Toronto. GTA results put the Conservatives at 37 per cent, the Liberals at 33 and the NDP at 23.
Northern Ontario, and the Niagara and Hamilton areas are said to show some opportunities for the NDP.
