Police look to identify person responsible for arson in Hamilton

Hamilton police are asking for assistance into the identity of an arson suspect.

On Tuesday, August 17, shortly before 4:00 a.m., police and emergency partners responded to a house fire in the area of Essling Avenue and Upper Wentworth Street.

Police and the Ontario Fire Marshall’s office say they conducted an investigation that determined the fire was caused by arson.

CCTV images from the area captured a man involved in the arson. The footage shows the man enter the garage, intentionally start a fire and then leave the area on foot.
