Police investigating hate-motivated assault in Ancaster

Hamilton police say they’re investigating a hate-motivated assault that happened in the Meadowlands area of Ancaster.

On Saturday around 9:30 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was walking in the area of Golf Links Road and Neville Drive when she was approached by a silver sedan.

The occupants of that car began yelling anti-black slurs and eventually assaulted the woman.

Investigators say the victim did not know her attackers.

One of the suspects is described as a light-skinned male with curly black or brown hair. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a grey or white sweater.

Police are asking residents and business owners in the area to review their security footage from Saturday, Oct. 25 between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
