(updated) A man is dead after being hit by a car in Port Colborne early Thursday morning.

2013-0627-RollyGilbertNNPMFamily has identified him as 42-year-old Rolly Gilbert. Niagara Police say he was laying in the southbound lane on Miller Road — just north of White Road — when he was hit and dragged by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The 37-year old Port Colborne woman who was driving the car wasn’t hurt. Lauran sabourin is following this story and will have a report on the evening news at 6.
