Paris District High School under lockdown in Brantford

Paris District High School (PDHS), located northwest of Brantford near Grand River Street North and St. Patrick Street, is currently under lockdown.

North Ward School, located at 107 Silver St. in Paris, Ont., is in a hold and secure as a result of the lockdown.

A spokesperson of PDHS tells CHCH News it was placed into this lockdown at 10:10 a.m. under the direction of police who are investigating after the school received a threat.

“At this time, all students and staff are safe, and we are following established lockdown procedures under the direction of police and board protocols,” the spokesperson says. “The safety and well-being of everyone in the building remains our highest priority.”

The school says they will provide an update as soon as it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Brant OPP is advising of a heavy police presence around Grand River Street North due to this ongoing investigation. The public is advised to avoid the area.
