Brantford police have lifted the lockdown and hold-and-secure orders placed on several schools after a threat.
Officers posted on social media at around noon on Wednesday saying the Brantford Collegiate Institute (BCI) and École Dufferin have been placed under lockdown.
Wilfrid Laurier University, Conestoga College, Christ the King Catholic Elementary School, Lansdowne-Costain Public School and W. Ross Macdonald School were all placed under a hold-and-secure.
In a statement sent to families of BCI students, the Grand Erie District School Board says the lockdown was triggered by a threat called into the school.
Police conducted a thorough investigation and determined that the threat was false, according to the school board.
The orders were lifted at around 1 p.m. and regular school operations resumed.
