OPP investigates after rifle, air pistols stolen during break-in

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a metal gun locker was stolen during an overnight break and enter.

Officers were called to a home on Christie St. in Rockwood, Ont. around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say someone broke into a secure trailer on the property sometime overnight.

A metal gun locker containing a black .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a wooden stock, ammunition, a black air rifle with a wooden stock, a black air pistol with a 10-inch barrel with a wooden grip, and a black CO2 air pistol – revolver style was taken from the trailer. Several construction tools were also stolen.

Anyone with information about this theft is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Police are also reminding residents to report any suspicious activity after several vehicles on Kaine Hill Dr. were also broken into and property was stolen over the long weekend. “Your information may help to interrupt a potential crime, help to identify a crime trend, suspect, or prevent further crimes,” said OPP.
