Ontario reports 1,003 new COVID-19 cases, 14 deaths

Ontario is reporting 1,003 new cases of COVID-19 and 14 deaths.
This comes as the province completed 41,268 tests.
Toronto, Peel Region and York Region continue to lead in new cases.
Ontario is reporting 1,003 cases of #COVID19. Locally, there are 300 new cases in Toronto, 280 in Peel and 125 in York Region. There are 949 more resolved cases and nearly 41,300 tests completed.

The province is set to announce where each public health unit where be placed under its new colour-coded system.
Peel and York regions are expected to move into orange-level restrictions as of 12:01 a.m. Saturday.
This relaxes some of the restrictions they were under when put into the modified Stage 2 last month.
Another 949 cases of the virus have been marked as resolved, according to Friday’s report.
Overall, 85.8 per cent of COVID-19 cases are resolved.
Here’s how the numbers break down in our region:
Haldimand-Norfolk: 4 new cases, 28 active cases
Brant: 15 new cases, 74 active cases, 3 in hospital
Halton: 57 new cases, 333 active cases, 2 deaths, 11 in hospital
Niagara: 29 new cases, 203 active cases, 2 deaths, 4 in hospital
Across the province, there are 380 people in hospital with the virus. 86 are in intensive care, while 49 of those are on a ventilator.
Another 85 cases of COVID-19 has been reported in Ontario schools.
