Oakville arson suspect arrested

An Oakville man has been arrested in connection to a number of suspicious fires that have occurred in Oakville over the past several weeks.

The blazes occurred at Lions Valley Park, a playground at the Glen Abbey Recreational Centre and at St. Volodymyr’s Church on Dundas Street West.

28-year old Alexandre Lemelin has been charged with three counts of arson and has been held for a bail hearing.

Police continue to investigate the incidents and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
