North Carolina shooter kills 5 people in mass shooting in Raleigh

An off-duty police officer is among five people killed in a mass shooting in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The suspect allegedly opened fire Thursday night on a walking trail in a residential area northeast of downtown Raleigh.
Authorities say an off-duty police officer was among those killed.
Two other people, including another police officer, were taken to hospital. The officer was later released, but the other survivor remains in critical condition.
Raleigh Police Lt. Jason Borneo says the suspect was taken into custody shortly after 9:30 p.m. Thursday when officers surrounded a home hours after the mass shooting.
The age and identity of the suspect have not been released but police say he is a juvenile male.
North Carolina law defines a juvenile as anyone under age 18. Authorities did not offer any details on a motive.
This is the 25th mass shooting in the United states this year.
