Niagara police say a man has died following a house fire in Lincoln, Ont., Monday afternoon.
Lincoln Fire Rescue crews responded to the blaze around 2:45 p.m. on Nineteenth Street near Seventh Avenue, where Fire Chief Greg Hudson says nine fire trucks and 28 firefighters found a well-involved fire and one resident without vital signs.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and none of them were injured. Hudson says three tanker trucks were needed to supply water in the non-hydrated area.
Officials say it is too early in the investigation to determine a cause or estimate the extent of the damage. No victim identification is being released at this time.
Niagara police and Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal are investigating.
