Niagara ice wine harvest begins

Thanks to the early winter weather, the annual ice wine harvest has already started in the Niagara-area.

Workers at Vineland Estates have started harvesting grapes in the recent sub-zero temperatures.

Wine makers say this is one of the earliest dates they’ve started the harvest. By Vintners Quality Alliance Ontario rules temperatures have to fall below -8 degrees for the ice wine harvest to start.
