Brantford police are investigating a report of finishing nails found inside Halloween chocolate bars.

On Sunday, officers received the report from a parent at a home located in the area of St. Paul and Grand River avenues.

Investigators say the affected chocolate bars include Mars and Twix.

Police believe the candy may have been collected in the Holmedale area of Brantford and are advising parents and caregivers to inspect all Halloween candy before consuming.

Officers are advising people who find any suspicious treats, to not consume or discard it but instead to keep the candy and packaging and contact the police at 519-756-7050.
