A 63-year-old man who was struck by a car in Niagara Falls on Sunday has died, say police. The driver who hit him has still not been found.
On Aug. 10 around 10 p.m., police say they responded to the area of Montrose Road and Greendale Street for reports of a collision.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a man had been struck by an SUV. He was transported to an out-of-region hospital with ‘critical injuries.’
The vehicle did not stop after hitting the man, and was last seen driving southbound on Montrose Road toward Lundy’s Lane. Police have still not found the car or its driver.
On Thursday, Niagara police announced that the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries in hospital. Detectives are now investigating this as a hit-and-run fatality.
Detectives describe the suspect vehicle as a white four-door Audi SUV with a large moonroof.
Anyone with information, dash cam or surveillance footage recorded between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Dorchester Road between Lundy’s Lane and McLeod Road is asked to contact police at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009059.
