Niagara Falls man charged following drug trafficking investigation

Police have arrested and charged a 39-year-old Niagara Falls man following a drug trafficking investigation.

On Feb. 9, authorities received a complaint regarding a man trafficking controlled substances.

Later on Feb. 16, the man was identified, located and arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Alden Knight is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Proceed of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession of a Firearm, Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (crystal methamphetamine)
  • Traffic in Schedule 1 Substance

Officers found Knight to be in possession of 7.5 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine which was packaged and prepared for distribution.

Investigators say the drugs found have an estimated street value of $750. Knight was also in possession of a prohibited knife.
